ok, if I do one blog a month....

Life's been busy.  Taking time for myself, when the house is relatively quiet,  makes the reflective moments all the more sweet.  When I put down the cleaning rag, stop the frenetic movement and actually focus on putting some words down, it fosters freedom and creativity in my soul.  Having a family that is expanding by the month can be exciting and invigorating yet there are growing pains.  In January we added a 12 year old daughter S.H. and in February a dark chocolate brown chihuahua named A.M.  He is nothing like Bubba, the terrorizing Dachshund, this chihuahua is actually sweet and potty trained.  I have to euthanize Gilligan (my long haired rescue) at some point and I have gotten a "replacement" because I am going to miss him tand am dreading that day.

The balancing act of taking care of others and loving them as I love myself is interesting.  I err on one side or another, no perfection here.  It seems there are so many things that pull on my attention so that STOPPING for a few minutes or gasp...an hour...can be really refreshing.  I feel like I'm on a step incline, as are many moms and dads, and the better conditioned I am, the less baggage I carry, the easier it is to ascend the hill.
Reading the "Boundaries with Self" chapter in Boundaries by Cloud & Townsend, is where I am at today.  Great book, I highly recommend it to any and all people on the face of the planet.  After The Bible, my all time favorite book.  Simple, practical and effective.  Anyway, Love you all.  Peace.

"You have a lot of words"

When I first became a Christian one of the women who was to mentor me proclaimed "You have a lot of words...and you have a lot to say" Needless to say that relationship was short lived.  What I love about the new media is that it is awesome opportunity for us verbose, external processors to have a forum.  This is my first post and I am very happy to have outlet. I dedicate my blog, Anya Mind and Heart, to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  He made me this way and it is my desire to use my gifts and abilities to bring glory to God.  In this blog I will examine current events, have theological insights on politics and such and look at random things that totally crack me up.  I hope to shed light, wisdom and humor into 2011 and beyond.  Peace!
